Every spring hundreds of thousands of Sandhill cranes make their annual migration north and like clockwork take a 2-3 week rest in a narrow stretch of the North Platte River near Kearney, Nebraska. They spend the day in the cornfields and then make their way to the river sand bars to spend the night. Early the next morning, its back to the fields.
